Rachel Tillman

Chief Content Officer

Rachel Tillman is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with expertise in strategy and implementation, content development, and project management. She serves as Board Smart’s Chief Content Officer and is responsible for managing content production for the company’s innovative eLearning system for public retirement system trustees and executives. Rachel is a consultant and works with business services companies, professional services firms, and not-for-profit organizations. She helps clients develop messaging and marketing strategies, create effective marketing campaigns and materials, produce industry-specific articles, and build well-designed websites.

Before becoming a consultant, Rachel held top marketing positions at prominent companies and not- for-profit organizations, including Allied Capital Corporation, MicroStrategy, Deloitte & Touche, Jubilee Support Alliance, and Leadership Washington. At Allied Capital, she was responsible for corporate communications to retail shareholders and institutional investors; PR/media relations, including listing on NYSE and stock short sale controversy; development and implementation of marketing programs to increase deal originations; and strategic marketing to add value to portfolio companies. At MicroStrategy, Rachel developed successful strategies for revenue growth through Partner channels with an account list that included many of the major tech consulting firms. She served as Deloitte & Touche’s Director of Marketing for the Mid-Atlantic region where she collaborated with the area sales team to develop lead generation and market penetration programs and led all industry-related marketing, including advertising, special events, and collateral materials.

Rachel is a member of the American Marketing Association DC Chapter and is active in local civic organizations and the Jubilee community. She has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College.
